Million Dollar Fish Season 3 First Winner
Season 3 of the Northern Territory's Million Dollar Fish competition has paid out a record $40,000 in cash prizes in the first week.

In a fishing frenzy, four $10,000 prize tagged barramundi have been caught by Darwin locals during the first seven days of the competition.

George Voukolos became the first fisho to reel in a red tag in Season 3, landing a $10,000 barra while land fishing at Daly River last week. The lucky catch was Mr Voukolos' second of the competition having previously caught another $10,000 fish in Season 2.

Just days later, a further three $10,000 prize tagged barra were caught over the weekend at popular Darwin fishing locations Southport boat ramp at Berry Springs, Shady Camp at Mary River National Park and the Mary River Bridge Lagoon.

The Million Dollar Fish competition kicked off on 1 October with 101 iconic Northern Territory barramundi tagged and released into NT waters carrying red cash prize tags. 100 of the fish are worth $10,000 with one lucky fish carrying a $1 Million prize tag.

Thousands of dollars worth of prizes, including holidays to the NT, are also up for grabs just by registering in the competition.

The Million Dollar Fish competition attracts approximately 40,000 interstate visitors to the Top End for fishing each year, as well as an additional 40,000 Territorians that travel to fish across the year.

Million Dollar Fish Season 3 runs from 1 October 2017 to 28 February 2018 and participants must register online at www.milliondollarfish.com.au to be eligible to win.
