Tourism Accessibility Improvements Grant
A total of 8 tourism businesses have received $250,932 in funding with 5 projects in the Top End and a further 3 in Central Australia. This funding will assist these tourism operators to improve their accessibility offerings, helping to build the Northern Territory’s reputation as a compelling destination for inclusive travel.
Recipients include:
National Road Transport Hall of Fame | Upgrade and renovate an ablution block with full accessible access. | $35,250.00 |
Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruises | Install a hydraulic accessible lift to existing stairwell for access to Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruises platform and shop. | $24,461.50 |
K-Town Hotel | Install a lift for first floor rooms’ access, renovate three (3) rooms to accessible standards and fit card entry locks to all rooms. | $50,000.00 |
Ramada Suites Zen Quarter | Renovate three (3) apartments for accessible accommodation. | $24,321.82 |
Red Centre Adventures | Purchase disability support bikes, trikes and tandem bikes to for hire bikes suitable for visitors with limited mobility, wheelchair bound or vision impaired. | $11,320.00 |
Anglers Choice Fishing Safaris | Build new wheelchair ramp to the existing building and one new accessible room and bathroom. | $50,000.00 |
Crab Claw Island Resort | Install an accessible compliant ramp to the level 1 main decking area. | $50,000.00 |
Alice Springs Reptile Centre | Install additional viewing windows to the outside enclosure for accessible viewing and an adult change table in the accessible bathroom. | $5,579.50 |
