Distribution Grant Program

The Distribution Grant seeks to support NT tourism businesses progress in their distribution journey. In 2025-26 the program places a particular focus on attracting and welcoming inbound Chinese visitors with the commencement of direct air access from Guangzhou.
The program supports:
Implementation of an approved online booking system (such as Room Manager, Rezdy, Newbook, RMS, Fareharbor). Support can also be provided for data entry to transfer existing bookings into the new system
Advice on adapting existing product and itineraries for new international markets
Trade training programs (ie China host, ATEC, QTF) and cultural awareness training for staff
Translation services which could include but is not limited to:
Signage
Menus
Audio guide content
Safety video production
Up to $5,000 in support is available per eligible business application. A 50:50 co-contribution is required for booking systems, product diversification and training programs. Within the funding cap, up to $3,000 is available without co-contribution for translation activities, in support of the incoming China Southern flights.
To be eligible, applicants must:
Have a tourism focus, operating in the NT and employing resident Territorians
Be legally constituted and Australian-registered
Hold a current Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) listing
Be a member of a peak industry body (Tourism Top End, Tourism Central Australia, Hospitality NT)
Applications open on 30 September, apply via the Grants NT portal including a copy of quotes. The NT Government’s Buy Local Policy applies, wherever possible, businesses should source NT-based suppliers. The program will close 30 March 2026, or earlier if fully subscribed.
Successful applicants will enter into a legally binding funding agreement with the NT Government. Terms and conditions will reflect the approved activity.
Payment of the funding will be made on grant acquittal.
Funding will not be provided for:
Activities that have commenced prior to grant approval
Wages or salaries of the applicant’s employees
Ongoing business running costs (such as rent, insurance, auditing)
Marketing or advertising activities
In-room amenities or consumables
Purchase or lease of portable/attractive assets (such as mp3 players, laptops, iPads)
Applications where the applicant has not met obligations from previous NT Government funding agreements
Government agencies and peak industry bodies, including Regional Tourism Organisations
