Time to be a Territorian
Tourism NT has launched an intra-Territory campaign encouraging locals to get out and enjoy their backyard, and help support the tourism sector which has been globally impacted as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The ‘Time to be a Territorian’ campaign was the first step in a planned marketing approach to support the local tourism sector while NT borders remained closed. Following the Northern Territory Government’s announcement that biosecurity restrictions were to be removed from Friday 5 June, the campaign supported NT businesses to plan, and take forward bookings.
The campaign showcases the Territory’s unique experiences that we often take for granted while highlighting what Territorians do best - support each other.
Locals have dug deep recently to adhere to strict health guidelines but now is the time when Territorians can really shine and help get the economy back on its feet whilst enjoying all the benefits that being in the Territory brings.
With many tourism operators still planning their reopening schedule, the campaign is partnered with the NT's regional tourism organisations, Tourism Top End and Tourism Central Australia, who are best placed to provide advice on exciting experiences that locals may not be aware of and that can book in their local area.
We encourage locals to support their mates, their neighbours and their relatives who work in the tourism sector. If you’re able to, perhaps consider experiences like a fishing charter, a water cruise, a cultural experience or an overnight stay is crucial to support our tourism sector.
