Tourism NT's Regional Profiles provide a detailed look into each of the Northern Territory tourism regions.

The Regional Profile reports are updated on an annual basis and provide information on regional trends, visitor demographics, transportation, dispersal and other key issues unique to each of the regions. The regional reports also analyse the consumer perspective on each of the regions and what drives them to visit the region.

Top End

The Top End region received over 892,000 visitors, staying an average 4.8 nights and spending approximately $1102 per trip, as at year ending June 2021. More information on the region can found in the Top End Regional Report YE June 2021.

Central Australia

The Central Australia region received 389,000 visitors, staying an average 6.3 nights and spending approximately $1177 per trip, as at year ending June 2021. More information on the region can found in the Central Australia Regional Report YE June 2021.

Greater Darwin

The Greater Darwin region received over a million visitors, staying an average 5.8 nights and spending approximately $1198 per trip, as at year ending December 2019. More information on the region can found in the Greater Darwin Regional Report YE December 2019.

Kakadu and Arnhem Land

Over a three year average from 2017 to 2019, the Kakadu and Arnhem Land region received 212,000 visitors, who stayed an estimated 879,000 nights and contributed an estimated $187 million to the economy. Katherine and Surrounds

On a three year average between 2017 to 2019, the Katherine Daly region received 340,000 visitors who spent approximately $179 million in the region and stayed on average 4.5 nights. More information on the region is available in the Katherine & Surrounds Regional Report YE December 2017 - 2019.

Barkly

On a three year average 2017 to 2019, the Barkly region received 125,000 visitors who spent an estimated $84 million and stayed 325,000 nights in the region. More information on the region is available in the Barkly Regional Report YE December 2017 - 2019.

Alice Springs and MacDonnell Ranges

The Alice Springs and MacDonnell Ranges region received over half a million visitors as at year ending December 2019, with visitors staying approximately 4.2 nights on average and spending an estimated $949 on average per trip. Uluru and Surrounds

The Uluru and Surrounds region received over half a million visitors as at year ending December 2019, with visitors staying approximately 4.2 nights on average and spending an estimated $949 on average per trip.
