Tourism NT's Regional Profiles provide a detailed look into each of the Northern Territory tourism regions.

The Regional Profile reports are updated on an annual basis and provide information on regional trends, visitor demographics, transportation, dispersal and other key issues unique to each of the regions. The regional reports also analyse the consumer perspective on each of the regions and what drives them to visit the region.

Greater Darwin

The Greater Darwin region received 814,000 visitors, staying an average 7.0 nights and spending approximately $1,425 per trip, as at year ending December 2023. More information on the region can found in the Greater Darwin Regional Report YE December 2023.

Kakadu and Arnhem Land

Over a five year average from 2019 to 2023, the Kakadu and Arnhem Land region received 185,000 visitors, who stayed an estimated 849,000 nights and contributed an estimated $136 million to the economy. Katherine and Surrounds

On a three year average between 2021 to 2023, the Katherine Daly region received 311,000 visitors who spent approximately $264 million in the region and stayed on average 3.7 nights. More information on the region is available in the Katherine & Surrounds Regional Report YE December 2021 - 2023.

Barkly

On a five year average 2019 to 2023, the Barkly region received 71,000 visitors who spent an estimated $45 million and stayed 183,000 nights in the region. More information on the region is available in the Barkly Regional Report YE December 2019 - 2023.

Alice Springs and MacDonnell Ranges

On a three year average between 2021 to 2023, the Alice Springs and MacDonnell Ranges region received 301,000 visitors, with visitors staying approximately 5.1 nights on average and spending an estimated $980 on average per trip. Lasseter

The Lasseter region received 231,000 visitors as at year ending December 2021 to 2023, with visitors staying approximately 4.3 nights on average and spending an estimated $1,511 on average per trip. Top End

The Top End region received 991,000 visitors, staying an average 7.0 nights and spending approximately $1,576 per trip, as at year ending June 2022. More information on the region can found in the Top End Regional Report YE June 2022.

Central Australia

The Central Australia region received 362,000 visitors, staying an average 5.5 nights and spending approximately $1,543 per trip, as at year ending June 2022. More information on the region can found in the Central Australia Regional Report YE June 2022.
