Territory tourism shines bright on national stage

Northern Territory tourism and hospitality operators have been awarded a swag of medals including two gold, two silver and four bronze at the 2022 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, putting the Territory on the map when it comes exceptional experiences.
The Awards, held at Doltone House Darling Island in Sydney, saw Australia’s tourism industry unite to celebrate the premier tourism businesses in the country and reveal the national winners.
Representing the Northern Territory tourism industry at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards were twenty Territory business winners from the 2022 Brolga Awards, the Territory’s official tourism awards recognising businesses that strive for excellence.
Char Restaurant and The Darwin Club at Admiralty House NT were awarded the best Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services Australia-wide, bringing home gold for the Territory.
Also taking home gold, Darwin Festival, the winner of the Major Festivals and Events category.
Katherine Outback Experience took Silver for the Tourist Attractions category, with the Darwin Convention Centre also awarded Silver for Business Events Venues.
Another four Territory businesses were bronze winners, Oasis Tourist Park for Caravan and Holiday Parks and Venture North Safaris for Cultural Tourism.
While Uluru Audio Guide was recognised Tourism Retail and Hire Services and Angkerle Atwatye/Standley Chasm for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Tourism Experience.
In another win for the Northern Territory, Darwin has been announced as the host for the 2023 Australian Tourism Awards and the inaugural Australian tourism industry conference, in March next year.
