Aboriginal Tourism Development Support Grant Program

The NT Aboriginal Tourism Strategy 2O2O - 2030's Update (Strategy) vision is that we inspire visitors to connect with one of the world’s oldest cultures through immersive tourism experiences, which will sustain the Aboriginal tourism sector for future generations. Its mission is in participating in the tourism sector, the Aboriginal people of the Northern Territory are respectfully supported to benefit economically, socially, and culturally.
The Aboriginal Tourism Development Support Grant Program Round 4 (Grant Program) supports the vision by helping Aboriginal owned businesses and organisations to develop Aboriginal cultural tourism experiences and products that encourage visitors to travel to the NT and stay longer.
Tourism NT is providing a non-competitive funding pool of $200,000 (excluding GST) for professional services to support feasibility studies and business planning. Professional services can also be engaged to assist in preparing applications to the relevant land council or other land management authority for tourism experiences and tourism product.
Applications can be submitted for:
a minimum funding value of $10,000 (excluding GST)
up to a maximum funding value of $30,000 (excluding GST)

Indicative dates
Applications open | 8.00am, Tuesday 27 May 2025 |
Applications close | 4.00pm, Friday 6 March 2026 or earlier if program funding is fully subscribed |
Consideration of projects | As applications are received |
Notification of successful recipients | Within 14 days of receipt of a complete application |
First payment | On receipt of a signed funding agreement and a copy of the recipient’s first supplier invoice. |
Second final payment | On acquittal |
Final date for projects to be completed | Friday 15 May 2026 |
Note this is an open non-competitive grant and applications will be assessed as received.
