Military heritage tourism

The military heritage tourism sector showcases unique and unrivalled stories from the people who helped shaped today's Northern Territory. Tours of significant military sites of importance offer visitors an in-depth understanding of Australia's military legacy as a strategic defence of the country. The bombing of Darwin in World War II provides compelling stories of bravery, survival and resilience that will forever be a vivid reminder of Australia's military history.
Sharing these experiences through drive itineraries, education tourism, key anniversary events and product offerings will help showcase the Territory's military history to visitors to the NT, encouraging extended stay and slower travel through the regions.
