Turbocharged Litchfield National Park works continue to progress
- 16 May 2020
The $17.5 million Turbocharging Tourism project will open up new camping and swimming spots in Litchfield, enhancing visitor experiences and create local jobs, making sure we are ready for the post COVID-19 rebound.
Continuing to upgrade our parks and reserves and provide additional experiences allows the NT to be ahead of the game when it comes to domestic and international tourism reopening.
The tender, which is for the next stage works, includes the construction of a:
- 4WD access track,
- two loop roads to the campsites and
- 10 campsites within the northern campgrounds as well as toilets and an information shelter.
Stage 1 works for the construction of 18km of access road is currently underway by local firm Aldebaran Contracting Pty Ltd with completion anticipated next month.
The tender for the last stage of works to construct the remaining campgrounds, day-use and recreation areas is anticipated to be released in July 2020.
