A new training course for Chinese-speaking Kakadu guides will be held in the Northern Territory in April.

The specialised training course will give tour guides the required Kakadu Knowledge for a Tour Guides certificate, boosting the number of Mandarin speaking guides available to take tours into Kakadu.

The program is being facilitated in partnership with Charles Darwin University and Parks Australia and forms part of the Department of Tourism and Culture's China Ready Industry initiative, which addresses key supply issues in the Northern Territory in order to facilitate future growth from Greater China.

Mandarin speaking tour guides interested in pursuing a career in tour guiding in the Top End, including Kakadu National Park, can now apply to the new training course.

Participants must be available to attend the training course held in Darwin and Kakadu from 29 May - 1 June 2017. Applications close 13 April 2017.
