Sunrise shines spotlight on Darwin
- 05 August 2016
Weather man, Sam Mac, broadcast weather segments live from the new Bombing of Darwin Harbour and Royal Flying Doctor Service Experience tourism attraction at Stokes Hill Wharf on Wednesday 3 August.
As well as showcasing the new facility, which includes virtual reality and holographic technology, the broadcast segments also educated Australians about the Bombing of Darwin.
The Northern Territory is home to a suite of World War Two historical sites and relics and Tourism NT’s ongoing $225,000 new military heritage campaign will be dedicated to promoting these tours, attractions and sites right across the Territory. As part of the new campaign, new content and articles about the Territory's military heritage will be showcased on Tourism NT's new consumer website, www.northernterritory.com.
On Thursday 4 August, the show also promoted the Darwin Festival during the weather crosses as part of Tourism NT’s ‘Experience NT Events’ campaign.
The Sunrise weather broadcasts are seen by hundreds of thousands of Australians and will deliver substantial exposure for the Top End.
