The Northern Territory Government is backing our tourism industry, launching a new national campaign today, promoting the NT as a destination for unique and extraordinary events.

Events that bring the different is designed to inspire Australians to visit, experience and participate in unique Territory events, boosting our visitor numbers and building a stronger tourism industry.

The campaign will use seven uniquely Territorian events as a hook to further promote the entire NT events calendar to interstate audiences.

The seven events being highlighted include:

  • fabALICE, a drag and cabaret festival in Alice Springs from 9 – 12 March 2023
  • Parrtjima: A Festival in Light, a free 10-night festival in Alice Springs from 7 – 16 April 2023
  • BASSINTHEGRASS, the Territory’s biggest beachside music festival in Darwin on 20 May 2023
  • Darwin Festival, Australia’s hottest winter arts festival from 10 – 27 August 2023
  • Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, one of Australia’s most significant and internationally recognised arts events, 11 – 13 August 2023
  • Red CentreNATS, the ultimate festival of wheels in the Red Centre from 1 – 3 September 2023; and
  • Desert Song Festival, a 10 day festival in Alice Springs from 8 – 17 September 2023.

Designed to drive interstate visitors to the Territory and encourage them to stay and explore more of our regions, the campaign includes planning tools and travel packages and is in market nation-wide until 30 June 2023.

Event organisers in the NT are encouraged to list and update their events on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) to ensure they are included on Tourism NT’s events portal northernterritory.com/events
