Million Dollar Fish Season 4
The Territory's Million Dollar Fish competition is back, with five chances to reel in a barramundi worth $1 million.

Ambassador, Matthew Hayden, helped launch Season 4 of the popular competition today, announcing some exciting changes to the format.

This year’s competition will see the number of $1 million fish increased to five, which is expected to reel in fishing fanatics to the Territory.

Three red tagged barramundi will be re-activated from Season 1, 2 and 3 worth $1 million while two red tagged barramundi worth $1 million will be marked with MDFS4.

If a $1 million fish is caught, the remaining four will revert to $10,000 fish.

There will be 125 prize tagged barramundi in total with 100 red tags worth $10,000 marked with MDFS4 and 20 new purple charity fish tags worth $2,500 to the angler and $2,500 to a pre-approved charity.

The season has also been extended until 31 March 2019.

The Million Dollar Fish competition is delivered by the NT Government in partnership with BetEasy, who provides the cash prizes.

The competition has helped boost the Territory's reputation as one of the best places in the world to fish and is timed to attract more visitors to the Top End over the lower tourism season.

Million Dollar Fish runs from 1 October 2018 to 31 March 2019.
