Million Dollar Road Trip attracts over 55,900 separate entries
- 27 November 2024
The lucky winners of the Million Dollar Road Trip to the NT visited Darwin in November, to determine if they'd won the major $1 million cash prize.
While they didn't take home the million they did receive the $10,000 cash prize and a lifetime of memories from their trip to the NT.
"We’ve had such an incredible time in the NT. Kakadu was unforgettable, and the Yellow Water boat cruise was a highlight,” winner Bec Hyslop said.
“We also loved our time at Edith Falls—the campground was perfect, and the swim just a short walk away. Darwin and Uluru were amazing too.”
Throughout their journey, the family explored local accommodations, experiences, and attractions, soaking in the diverse beauty and cultural richness of the Northern Territory.
The competition, launched in partnership between Tourism NT and Caravan Industry Association of Australia (CIAA), was designed to inspire domestic drive travellers to choose the Northern Territory as their holiday destination.
Over 55,900 separate entries were generated due to people enjoying tourism experiences and NT attractions, this included booking camping accommodation.
Over 480 businesses were directly included in the campaign, receiving printed point-of-sale assets and digital assets.
Running from May to September 2024, it offered adventurous Australians the opportunity to explore the NT, incentivising dispersal to our regions by booking at one of our 5 regional Visitor Information Centres.
