Million Dollar Fish Season 3 begins soon
The Northern Territory's Million Dollar Fish competition will return for its third season in October.

Registrations are now open with Season 3 of the competition expected to attract 45,000 registrations from across Australia and overseas.

Season 3 will once again see 101 iconic Northern Territory barramundi tagged and released into Northern Territory waters with 100 carrying a tag worth $10,000 cash, plus one lucky barra carrying the $1 million red tag.

All up Season 3 will see a $2.1 million in cash and prizes up for grabs.

Anyone who registers for the competition is eligible to win sponsor prizes including two package holidays to Darwin offering flights, fishing safari packages and accommodation, a Jayco Swan Outback Camper trailer worth $30,000, Engel fridges and ice boxes, Shimano Fishing Tackle, and a Can-Am Hunting Edition Quad Bike valued at $14,999 from Territory Power Sport.

Million Dollar Fish ambassador, Matthew Hadyen, helped launch season 3 of the competition in Darwin, encouraging Aussies to register for the competition.

“We’ve got 101 tagged barra to be released in Darwin as well as some of the best fishing spots in in the Top End including Kakadu, Katherine, the Tiwi Islands and Arnhem Land regions,” he said.

The Million Dollar Fish competition is timed to grow visitor numbers to the Top End during the low season from October to February.

The competition will run from 1 October 2017 to 28 February 2018 and participants must register online at www.milliondollarfish.com.au.
