The trip was organised as part of Tourism Australia’s ‘Friends of Australia’ ambassador program to encourage more Indian holiday-makers to Australia.
Parineeti enjoyed the wonders of Uluru including the Field of Light installation, a helicopter ride, Uluru Motorcycle Tours and Maruku Dot Painting sharing her experiences with her 10 million followers on Facebook, 10 million Instagram followers and over nine million Twitter followers.
As well as social media posts, images and videos of Parineeti in the Red Centre will be used by Tourism NT and Tourism Australia in upcoming marketing campaigns in India, an emerging tourism market for the Territory.
The NT Government has invested $4 million in funding for tourism initiatives aimed at attracting more visitors from both China and India in the 2017 Budget.
Earlier this year, Tourism NT welcomed 24 Key Distribution Partners (KDPs) from India and 12 Inbound Tour Operators (ITOs) specialising in the India market to the Red Centre to experience first-hand the tourism products and experiences on offer in Alice Springs, Kings Canyon and Uluru.
Tourism NT has also launched a number of marketing campaigns in India showcasing the Red Centre as Australia’s “best kept secret” partnering with respected travel agencies Flight Shop, Cox & Kings, and SOTC Travel Services.
