NT Tourism Business Opportunity: Host Timorese Tourism Leaders for a Unique Exchange Program in March 2025!
Are you a Northern Territory tourism business looking to make a difference and foster international connections?
As part of an initiative from the Market Development Facility (MDF), you have an opportunity to host and mentor Timorese tourism business leaders in an exciting, hands-on exchange happening in Early March 2025!
Program Overview:
This program brings Timorese tourism business owners and leaders to the Northern Territory for a 10-day, immersive learning experience. Timor-Leste, just a 90-minute flight from Darwin, has a small but growing tourism industry and is eager to learn from more developed destinations. Participants represent various sectors, including accommodation providers, restaurants, cafes, and tour operators, and are looking to gain practical insights to advance tourism in Timor-Leste.
What’s Involved for NT Tourism Hosts?
Market Development Facility (MDF) will select approximately five NT businesses to host Timorese counterparts for this unique exchange, which includes:
Three days of study tours and meetings with NT government and business leaders
Seven days of on-site pairing for hands-on experience and mentorship
This is an opportunity for NT tourism businesses to share expertise, engage in meaningful cultural exchange, and make a lasting impact by supporting the growth of tourism in Timor-Leste.
Funding:
The program fully covers travel, accommodation, and food for Timorese participants.
Who Should Apply?
We’re looking for NT accommodation providers, restaurants, cafes, and tour operators eager to dedicate their time and resource to provide hands-on learning and mentorship experiences for Timorese participants.
