Tourism Towards 2030 Conference

Thank you to the Territory’s tourism and hospitality industry and all of local and interstate speakers that took the time to come along to the Tourism Towards 2030 conference in Darwin and Alice Springs this week.
At the Darwin conference delegates were treated to a beautiful welcome to country by Larrakia Elder, Aunty Bilawara Lee with Minister for Tourism & Hospitality Natasha Fyles and Tourism Top End Chair Michael Scott providing an opening address and welcome. In Alice Springs delegates were welcomed to country by Kumalie Riley with Tourism Central Australia Chair Patrick Bedford delivering the opening address.
Conference topics included: The value of Tourism (presented by Margy Osmond Tourism & Transport Forum), Tourism Australia Update (Phillipa Harris and Anita Godbeer), The Importance of the Drive Market (Stuart Lamont, Caravan Industry Association Australia), Leveraging off Major Events (Victoria Scott NT Major Events Company), Opportunities for Indigenous Tourism (Eddie Fry, Indigenous Business Australia and Accessible Tourism (Scott and Clair Crowley, Push Adventures).
Kate Turner from Parks Australia provided an update on Kakadu National Park at the Darwin Conference.
Tony Quarmby, Tourism NT’s General Manager Marketing provided an update on current Tourism NT activities in Darwin and Alice Springs.
A special thanks also to change leadership expert Nigel Collin, 2021 conference MC who also delivered his Game of Inches presentation at both conferences.
It was a packed program for delegates with insights, updates, opportunities and networking opportunities.
