Darwin Convention Centre wins Gold

The Darwin Convention Centre took out the Meeting Venue – 500 delegates or more category at the prestigious awards.

Darwin Convention Centre beat other convention centres around Australia, including ICC Sydney, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Adelaide Convention Centre and Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre to take the top honour.

The major award follows the launch of the Northern Territory Business Events Support Fund this year, which allows the NT to aggressively compete for lucrative business events.

Business events deliver significant economic benefits and support local tourism, retail and hospitality jobs. Conference and business event delegates often stay for a number of nights and spend more on average than other visitors.
