Letter to boost visitors to Alice Springs
- 24 March 2017
Tourism NT has launched a new advertisement assuring travellers that Alice Springs is a magical, unique and welcoming holiday destination.
In response to recent stories about travel warnings for Alice Springs, Central Australia will be promoted this weekend through an Open Letter advertisement in major metropolitan newspapers in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The Open Letter will inform readers that the Red Centre is the beating heart of the world’s oldest living culture and a visit to Central Australia is a life changing experience.
The Red Centre is home to incredible landscapes including the mysterious beauty of Uluru and the majesty of the MacDonnell Ranges.
It has a vibrant festival and events scene – with AFL, NRL and first class cricket games, the Finke Desert Race, Red Centre Nats, the Henley on Todd, the Camel Cup and Parrtjima: A Festival in Light attracting thousands of people to the Red Centre each year.
The people of Alice Springs are warm, friendly and passionate about their beautiful town.
At least one in four locals has moved to Alice from somewhere else – drawn to the Red Centre’s laid back lifestyle and great sense of community.
The new advertisement will assure all Australians and overseas travellers that the Alice community is ready to roll out the welcome mat for the more than 700,000 people who visit the region each year.
It will tell everyone that Alice Springs is a great place to visit.
