Sick kids reel winner in Million Dollar Fish

Darwin River man, Brad Tyquin, reeled in the lucky fish while fishing with a friend in Darwin Harbour.
The purple-tagged barramundi are an exciting new addition to Season 4 of the Million Dollar Fish competition, with 20 purple tags released worth $5,000 each with half the cash prize donated to a local charity and $2,500 going to the lucky angler.
Darwin Star Ball committee member, James Herraman, thanked the Mr Tyquin for choosing the Starlight Children’s Foundation as the first recipient of a charity fish prize, with the donation to support sick kids in Darwin and Alice Springs Hospitals.
Season 4 of the Million Dollar Fish competition commenced on 1 October 2018, with more chances than ever to catch a $1 million fish.
As well as the new purple-tagged barramundi, the number of $1 million fish has been increased to five, which is expected to reel in fishing fanatics to the Territory and give a boost to local tourism operators.
