Craft beer in the bush
- 15 May 2016
The Purple Mango Café and Brewery received an $85,950 Tourism Infrastructure Development Fund 2015-16 grant allowing them to expand their business to include a dedicated building for production of craft beers.
The Cafe, a one hour drive from Darwin, opened in March 2015 providing wood-fired oven pizzas and café meals, and has a rapidly growing customer base.
Limited camping and un-powered caravan sites are also available for short stays making the attraction a perfect stop for travellers passing through the Top End.
The Marrakai/Corroboree region is located on the doorstep to Kakadu and the new brewery at the Purple Mango Café will encourage visitors to stay longer in the region and experience the diverse range of attractions on offer from bird watching to river cruises and cultural tours.
The $9.75 million Tourism Infrastructure Development Fund is helping to expand the range of tourism products available in the NT, particularly in our regions, and achieve our Tourism Vision target of a $2.2 billion visitor economy by 2020.
