The Top Tour Guide award recognises the significant contribution quality tour guides make in providing memorable experiences to visitors through interpretation of the natural and cultural environment in a responsible manner and is designed to encourage individual tour guides to create and deliver innovative, accurate, authentic and inspiring tours that enhance tourism product and enrich the visitor experience.
Northern Territory’s 2022 Top Tour Guide - Anna Dakin
In August 2022 Central Australian based tour guide Anna Dakin was announced the winner of the Northern Territory’s 2022 Top Tour Guide. She went on to represent the Northern Territory at the national Top Tourism Awards 2022 and was awarded Silver Runner Up on the 13 September 2022 at Parliament House in Canberra.
Anna is a freelance tour guide originally from the UK, Anna has worked with a number of tourism businesses in Central Australia but predominately leads the World Expeditions Six Day Larapinta in comfort trip, which is recognised as one of the Great Walks of Australia.
Combining her love and experience of the Red Centre’s outback with her studies at the Royal College of Art in London, Anna is currently developing her own touring business, Art Tours of Australia.
Top End based tour guide Jack Tanner was announced as the runner up of the Northern Territory’s 2022 Top Tour Guide. Guide and co-owner of Cyaround Australia Tours, Jack offers tours throughout the Top End mainly between Litchfield, Kakadu and Nitmiluk National Parks.
