Virgin takes off with new Darwin to Bali service
The Top End's aviation links continue to grow with Virgin Australia today launching its new Darwin to Bali service.

The new service will operate three times per week between 10 April and 20 October 2019, on a 176 seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Through its strategic partnership with Delta Air Lines, Etihad Airways, HNA Aviation Group and Singapore Airlines, this route will allow Virgin to draw visitors from Europe and the United States over Bali and into Darwin.

To help build inbound demand for the new link, Tourism NT will promote a Bali route stopover to holidaymakers coming to Australia as well as undertaking a cooperative marketing campaign with Virgin promoting major events such as the V8 Supercars, AFL matches and Darwin Festival to Australian Bali ex-pats who are craving a taste of home.

“We are thrilled to be launching our first international service from Darwin. Virgin Australia couldn’t be prouder to bring the full service experience to this route, with a travel-friendly schedule to match," said Virgin Australia General Manager of Indirect and B2B Sales, Ann Elliott

“We have always been known to raise the bar in terms of our products and services and from today onwards, we will be bringing strong competition to this area of our network. We look forward to welcoming Territorian travellers on board, as well as stimulating tourism and jobs growth in the region.”

The new Virgin Australia flights follow discussions between the NT Government, NT Airports and airlines over new routes linking Darwin to destinations in Asia.
