Chinese superstar puts spotlight on NT
In a major coup for Northern Territory tourism, Chinese superstar Hu Ge has visited Alice Springs for a major magazine photo shoot.

Hu, a Chinese actor and model who has 47 million followers on Chinese social media platform Weibo, features in this month's special travel issue in popular Chinese fashion and lifestyle magazine 'Modern Lady'.

The magazine feature with Hu Ge and Chinese supermodel, Wang Xin Yu, was shot in the spectacular Red Centre at the Old Ambalindum Homestead, Ellery Creek Big Hole and Simpsons Gap.

A ten page ‘Hu Ge’s Outback Diaries’ features in the issue as well as a nine page travel feature, which lets Chinese readers know how they can get to the Northern Territory easily from China and what to do and see when they're here.

The magazine edition also includes a once-off triple front cover featuring Hu Ge, which showcases the Red Centre and the Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs.

It's the first time the magazine has ever done a triple cover and per-orders of the edition sold out in record time prompting the magazine to order a second batch.

The Modern Lady travel issue is expected to significantly raise the awareness of the Northern Territory as a holiday destination in China and inspire more Chinese to include the NT as part of their Australian holiday itinerary.
