Celebrating Tennant Creek's gold rush history
Tenannt Creek's rich mining history will receive a $5.5 million boost under the Turbocharging Tourism stimulus package.

The funding will revitalise tourism infrastructure in the town with upgrades to facilities and signage.

As the home of Australia’s last gold rush, Tennant Creek has a rich mining history and these upgrades will ensure visitors have an enjoyable and informative visit to the region.

Upgrades to the town's Visitor Centre are also planned, creating a central hub to feed into interpretive and interactive experiences.

The new investment will also improve facilities for tourist vehicle and van arrivals, including new parking and amenities encouraging coach and caravan stop overs.

The new funding is part of the NT Government's $103 million Turbocharging Tourism stimulus package to boost tourism and drive the economy.

The package also includes $26.57 million in funding for smarter and more targeted tourism marketing to push regional dispersal from Alice Springs and Darwin as well as increased promotion of Tennant Creek to the drive market.
